This is the week of the humble “t”, With “Tommy” Fleetwood winning the million dollar , Africa’s own major, golf tournament at Sun City. But equally important is “Tienie” Muller’s birthday on Wednesday and he is undoubtedly one of St Cathryn’s most competitive and best golfers, whom is constantly trying to play under is age…..Baie geluk Tiennie en Tommy.

Spring treatment is carrying on now that the course has received over 100 mm of rain. Fertilizer and a light sand dusting is applied to the greens after hollow-tinning. The course is not closed and is playable.

The group of golfers from Eden National, an associate club of ours, on their first outing to St Cathryn’s had a most enjoyable day.  Their comment was that the course was more than what they expected and the condition was great. The coffee and food was equally good and most of them took some home- made goodies home.

The Farmers Agri-care Monthly Mug is to be played this coming weekend 23 November 2019 and this is the last grand prix race played at monthly mug for 2019 and a mega meat prize is up for grabs. Contender Merwin Rabe has withdrawn, and Marius is pushing Dieter but just can’t overtake. Our very own Vinnige Fanie and Mike Harrison are not completely out of the race and with Sue adding some beauty to the race shows that the race is still being keenly contested.

Our family golf day this year is to be played at Gowrie GC on  27/12/2019 and Dieter will be hosting the tournament as our greenkeeper is having a well deserved rest. A booking for 12 golfers has been made and all members are invited to play and you will be welcome to bring a visitor. Please contact Dieter to enter for Gowrie.

It is that time of the year where our subs for 2020 are due, and the new rates will be available this coming weekend please ask Gary. To book for the Mug please contact Piet 0832691661 or enter on the group.
