We were blessed with warm sunshine on both Friday, 20 September and Saturday, 21 September 2019, for the 27th HMB Golf Day at St Cathryn’s Golf Estate. The golfers from far and near were thus able to play full rounds on two dry days, albeit with a little breeze on the Friday. We are most grateful to all our many sponsors, who contributed most generously to make the golf day another successful event for our school this year – our heartfelt thanks go to each one. A big thank you goes to the golfers, whose good spirits and friendly competitiveness were key to the congenial atmosphere. Thank you also to Piet & Cathy Nel and the staff of St Cathryn’s, the golf day committee, Hermannsburg staff and scholars and members of our Hermannsburg family who worked tirelessly and made sure that everything ran smoothly and that there was good food (and enough of it) for all to enjoy.

We congratulate Fanie van Wyk and André Scheepers on achieving the highest score – 47 points (on count-out – Steve can der Merwe and Piet Nel gave them a good run for their money).
3rd: Gerald Sibiya and Mbekizeni Biyela 46 points o.c.o
4th: Bheki Mlangeni and Marius Muller
5th: Cebo Zwane and Bheki Mbokazi 45 points o.c.o
6th: Vic Drogemoller and Keith Davies.
As well as Ronel Botha (longest drive, ladies), Clive Kitch (longest drive, gents), MJ Mook (nearest to pin on 2/11), André Scheepers (nearest to pin on 9/18) and Alpha Zwane (nearest to pin for 2 on 12). We look forward to seeing all the golfers again in 2020.

Congratulations to Fanie van Wyk and André Scheepers on lifting the trophy at the 27th HMB Golf Day, held at St Cathryn’s Golf Estate.
