The Farmers Agri-care monthly mug field on Saturday 16 February 2019, drew 17 players and very good support came from our Greytown neighbouring golf club, Seven Oaks, Maritzburg and Hillcrest, which is much appreciated. Due to other commitments, some golfers teed off at 7h15 and other golfers and visitors teed off from 9h00.
The heavy rain, about 115mm , that fell last week made the going tough, with the kikuyu fairways getting thick at places, the empty dams and ponds have filled up, so where in the past one could play happily out of some of the hazards, now one drops a shot or two… and the ball is lost in the hazard.
Captain Fanie vetkoek van Wyk continued his winning spree and seems to be unstoppable right now by winning the mug for the second month in a row. Let’s all watch his handicap!!!

The slope rating complaints recieved from members and visitors with regards to the “ severe cutting” of their handicaps when one opens a round at our club, is currently being addressed with Dave Cousens, the person assigned to our club for instituting the new slope rating. Members will be updated as soon as more information is received.
This Saturday 23 February 2019, we are looking forward to our visit to Greytown, where some of our members will be playing in the Jaco Botha memorial hosted by Flip and Ronel Botha.
Thank you to the folk who asked us about our photo in the gazette – unfortunately the photo was cropped and so the golf ball that was embedded in the Cactus was cut off – so our “Cactus Jack” looked a little lost.
