St Cathryn’s golf course had two groups of golfers on Saturday, there were the members playing in the Farmers Agri-care Monthly Mug competition and Stroke 18, (a group of golfers from the South of Durban) who stayed and played at St Cathryns during their weekend golf tour.
The very soft misty weather we had experienced made the greens a little slower. Although having been cut twice during the week. The good news is that one of the big Pin Oak trees is starting to show signs of recovery, this after being transplanted and moved to a new location 80 meters away.
Members and visitors played for the first time after the course was re -rated and welcomed the new “less harsh handicaps” for St Cathryn’s as the new Slope rating is up from 120 to 131 on the white markers.
